ALVA Industries and Neugart Collaborate on High-Performance AGV Drive Units for Automatica 2025
Each unit features a Neugart NGV gearbox combined with an Alva SlimTorqâ„¢ frameless motor, delivering smooth and precise motion with high torque density, compact footprint, and zero cogging - ideal for autonomous and robotic mobility applications.
Trondheim, Norway / Kippenheim, Germany - 16 June 2025 - ALVA Industries (Alva), a manufacturer of frameless motors and owner of FiberPrintingâ„¢ technology, has partnered with Neugart GmbH (Neugart), a global expert in planetary gearboxes and drive solutions, to showcase fully integrated AGV drive units at Automatica 2025.
The collaboration will be demonstrated at both companies' booths through two functional drive units:
â— One NGV064 drive unit with 160 mm wheels
â— One NGV100 drive unit with 250 mm wheels
Each unit features a Neugart NGV gearbox combined with an Alva SlimTorqâ„¢ frameless motor, delivering smooth and precise motion with high torque density, compact footprint, and zero cogging - ideal for autonomous and robotic mobility applications.
SlimTorqâ„¢ is Alva's series of slotless torque motors, manufactured using the company's patented FiberPrintingâ„¢ technology. This process enables ironless windings with up to 60% copper fill factor, resulting in motors with low inertia, no cogging, and excellent thermal performance.
Neugart's NGV series is a compact drive solution tailored for AGVs and mobile platforms, combining gearbox, motor flange, and wheel hub into one integrated unit.
